Im adopted and an avid supporter of open adoption. Tell me your opionion. Open or Closed? Give me the pros and cons of both.

If i was adopted through closed adoption is there anyway that i could go about finding my birth parents?? I know with closed adoption your adoptive parents are listed on the birth certificate and it is something that i can't bring up to my adoptive parents my dads not really around and my mom is going through breast cancer so now is not the time to talk to her about this but i would like to find out. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone who would like to know where they come from?

I have some information but ny doesn't allow for the families to look for the adoptee. It only allows for the adoptee to look for the family. Please help anyone. I am putting my maiden name on the screen in case he is looking for me.

Need advice from those that have experienced being adopted I was adopted at 5 months old, know very little about my past, my background, what my heritage is, am I Italian, German and so forth, most importantly any medical information. My birth mother, was told was very young when she gave birth to me, GOD Bless her for doing so, I pray for her everyday and thank her for giving birth to me and placing me in such loving arms of my Parents. I know that she is still young herself, and although my door is and always will be open to her and even the birth father which I know nothing about, I don't think that I will ever pursue seeing them unless it became a life or death situation. I am 33 and have children of my own now and I would like to fill in these pieces of the puzzle and I have been thinking about it alot lately.Should I get this information, and being that this was a closed adoption, can I get this information, and how?

Should I get a closed-adoption without my boyfriends approval?
I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 17.. I found out I was pregnant about a week ago. And I've only ever had sex with him so it has to be his baby but I dont want to tell him or anyone because I know he'll tell me to have the baby . I just want a closed adoption though so I wont have to see the baby ever again and she he will still be alive. Is it possible to get a closed adoption without his approval? Because I know a way I can hide that i'm pregnant.. I'll just live with my mom for 6 months because my parents are split. And my mom will help me out. But i'm scared.. Should I tell him? Because i'm 99 % sure he will want me to have this baby and I know he will support me but I just cant, its going to ruin my whole lifethat's the reason why I dont want to tell him, I know he'll want me to give him the baby but I cant deal with the fact that he has her him and she he is so close by. Hello,On August 20, 1988, I was born to a woman in a town called Portland, Oregon. The woman gave me away, to a nice family, and i love them. However, papers were apparently signed saying that this was a closed adoption. Now, nearly 19 years later, i'm curious. just who was that woman? is she still alive? safe? Nobody asked me if i wanted contact with her, they just severed all ties. I want to meet her. i dont need a relationship with her, but i want to know who she is, and where i come from. i want to know family history, and what makes someone give up a child..am i wrong for wanting this? How do i find her, even though the adoption was closed? Please help

Closed adoption - found my mother?
I am adopted and I recently found my birth mother on Facebook, however it was a closed adoption and i am still 16 years old, is it legal for me to make contact with her?I know for a fact that it's her. Names, addresses, family members... all match.
