Why do people belittle my career plans?
I am 28 years old and will soon be done with my graduate studies MA degree . I have decided, with the advice from my parents, that the best way to find a new job would be for me to leave my current job and dedicate my time for the job search. My parents said they will support me financially and otherwise until I find a new job. They will give me a salary more than I am making at my current job , for doing nothing but looking for a job. This is really great because I live at home and have virtually no expenses and I will still be able to save I have heard it is easier to get a job when you have a job, but I think that that only matters if you have a family to support or many bills to pay, neither of which apply to me. Anyway, I digress. Why do people, upon hearing this, say I am making a mistake etc? I ask because this situation seems to be affecting the way people see me, particularly women. Because of this I haven't even begun to look for a girlfriend.LOL, I haven't ever had a girlfriend or even my first kiss yet. I am saving that aspect of my life after the more important things are settled. Are my detractors simply jealous?
What is a good career plan for someone with limited physical health, advancing age, no degrees.?
Many people find themselves robbed of their assets later in life or various reasons. They have to start all over, and they often have others who financially depend on them at the same time. They come from every walk of life. Many have disabilities and severe depression. It is so common that it is alarming to see. Any good ideas. Nothing stupid and cruel please.

What is your opinion of my career plan?
well at the moment im 17 finishing my last year of high school in turkey im from australia moved to ireland when i was 10 and came to turkey this year ....my plan is too get into metu university here in turkey which one of the top ones in the country to study history and archeology. i would say without a doubt history is my passion and it interests me greatly and hey what could be better than doing your history degree in turkey a cradle of many famous ancient civilizations . after this i would like to study further and get a phd and possibly become a professor. I then want to travel the world exploring for say 6 months of a year trying to find lost artefact's i know it sounds Indiana jones ish ..don't laugh D . I would like to have a home to relax in for the other 6 months in a small town in washington america somewhere..peacefull. oh and ill be able to afford to go of exploring because for the last couple years ive been setting up a property business with my father which seems to be providing plenty of money needed to allow this .My view is you should do what comes naturally to you and i just seem to have nack for this field ..and we only have one lif so why not do something you love.i appreciate any opinions on my planthanks loadsLock
Will learning Modern Standard Arabic help with my career plans?
I am a college student majoring in Criminal Justice, specializing in Homeland Security. I plan on working with the government in either law enforcement or intelligence, I am also considering the military. I have been learning the basics of Eastern Arabic and I am considering getting Rosetta Stone, however Rosetta Stone teaches MSA, which I understand to be a dialect only educated Arabs speak. Would spending the money on Rosetta Stone help me land a job or is this dialect not useful to the military and government. Also, I understand I will not be fluent with just the software alone, so if I show that I know basics will the government still hire me and send me to their programs and develop my skills closer to fluency. I guess my basic question is whether or not learning the basics of this dialect will help me get a job.Thank you for answer. I know how it sounds, but I am actually teaching myself. I only have one year left of college, and I dont believe my university offers Arabic even if I had more time. This is a fairly new interest of mine and I know I am running out of time, but I am looking into different language learning software. I am also considering Farsi, or Persian, for a language, although it is my understanding that Arabic is more widely used. My hope is to gain a basic understanding of the language I choose, enough for a government agency to be interested in me, and then that agency could help develop my skills.
