Default How to remove carpet cleaner chemical from carpet?
I used some vanish and sainsbuys carpet cleaner on parts of my carpet. The box told me not to apply for more then 5 minutes however I thought longer meant better so I didn't listen. Box also did not say anything about rinsing so I didn't rinse..Anyway I left the chemical to to dry for 1 hour not 5 minutes and then removed with a cloth. Unfortunately now 2 days later I can still smell the chemical in my room. I applied some water and used a cloth, seems to have reduced the smell but it is still there.Anybody know how I can go about remove all of it effectively. Should I throw water over the carpet and cloth it up, will this be enough or do I have to do anything else. This is quite important for me, I have multiple chrnoic illnesses and am reacting to the chemical in the air.Thanks
Do you know of any non-detergent carpet cleaner?
I've heard that since most carpet cleaners have detergent in them that after a while they start to attract dirt to the area they have cleaned. Do you know of any non detergent carpet cleaner or a product that does not do this?

Can a carpet cleaner be used to clean a concrete floor?
We had our basement drywalled recently. I've swept, shopvaced and mopped floor but there is still a very light haze of drywall dust left. I'd to clean the concrete floor so we aren't tracking the dust upstairs. I'm looking for a more semi permanant way to clean till I can get a finished floor down.
