What color walls go with red carpet? 10 points!?
We have bright red carpeting in our formal living room. Although it is in great shape, and the walls are currently " off white" , we are about to put our home on the market. I'm basically not sure if I should just re paint the walls to make the room look better or if it would be a good investment to re floor and re paint the whole room. What would be a good color to paint the walls, or should I just opt to completely re do the whole room? Thanks

How to get burned paper towel out of carpet?
I was being idiotic and decided to light a piece of paper towel on fire from my house candle and it wouldn't blow out so I dropped it on my house carpet My house has hardwood floors but it has carpets under tables And stepped on the burning paper towel and now i can't get it up. i tried scrubbing it out, using nose pliers to pulled it out, putting ice cube on it and hope it goes out. But none of those worked it's hard and flaky. I really don't want my parents to find out so please help me while I still have the chance.
Honest help with carpet?
I have talked to 4 companies about re carpeting our home and all they can do is dog on other companies and say how they are the best. They all give contradicting advice. One guy said, " Stainmaster is just branding, use our r2x, it's better and cheaper." One guy said " R2x, stain master... all a scam. All carpet is stain resistant these days." And another guy said, " Stainmaster is the best " We want a plush carpet that is stain resistant we have a small dog . I don't care about having the best as I am carpeting my first home and won't be here forever. I also cannot find objective reviews on carpet brands. Why is this? I am starting to realize that the carpet industry is a very competitive business and how do I know that I am getting a quality product.

walls have stains above all the baseboards. and carpet has dark patches going across the floor in all the rooms. Chimney guy told me not to burn candles. I told chimney guy I don't. I do not burn candles maybe once a year for one hour. He said that the chimney is ok. The oil maintenance guy said that the oil burner is ok Please advise me I am lost for words and need your help. What colors go with DARK woodwork, white walls, and beige carpet?
I live in an apartment, I can't pain the walls a funky color, can't paint the woodwork baseboards, windowsills, etc which is EVERYWHERE and has been stained a very dark shade of brown , and I can't pull up the beige carpet. I love rustic looking wood furniture and painted wood furniture. I love hanging groups of small rustic mirrors or picture frames together.. throw pillows with decorative fabric are awesome. I can't figure out what colors to use, though. I have a couple of chairs I'd like to paint different colors that " pop" . My design style is very eclectic.I just can't figure out what to do with my current situation Curtains are a big thing too not sure what color to go with. I'm thinking of something sheer, but still with color to it. I'm not a fan of blinds, because my cat IS and they'll be trashed in a day P

How to remove the smell of amonia from my carpet?
I have a 30 gallon fish tank that has an oscar fish and an algae eater in it. The other day the pump started overflowing about about 15 gallons of water spilled into the desk and on the carpet around the desk that the tank is on. Now the room has a strong amonia smell. How do i get rid of this? Insence and room spray do not help at all. I have shampooed the carpet around the desk and I got the water out of the desk except for one drawer that I cannot open. I don't know if theres water in there or not. Im going to get rid of the desk this week. What can I use to get rid of the smell once I get rid of the desk and can access the whole floor area?
