How do I get ceiling fan light kit to work?
I installed a fan light kit to a fan. I connected the blue to the black wire and the white to the white and it would not work. I looked at the wiring where the fan is connected and the blue wire is connected to nothing at the top. Also there is a red wire that is capped off coming from the roof. The fan is connected to a wall switch that works and there is another switch that does nothing which I believe is wired for the light, which is that the red wire? Do i just need to connect the blue and red wire? I didnt want to just to it because I didnt want to mess anythign up.

How to I rewire a hampton Bay ceiling fan light kit(pull chain switch)?
I have a Hampton bay ceiling fan with a light kit and it works great except the ceiling fan does not work. The lights work on the ceiling fan. Someone pulled too hard on the pull chain and now I have 4 wires and not sure where they go on the pull chain switch. The wires are black, white, blue, and yellow. The pull chain switch has L, 1, 2, and 3. Can someone please tell me which wires go to which number? The type of switch I have is a zing ear pullchain switch ZE 208S. Thank you it is controlled by the wall switch not a remote control...i tried the website but it only taked me to home depot...there is no red wire at the wall switch, only black and white and the ground, everything is wired correctly except for the pull chain switch that came apart...

Anyone had problems using compact fluorescent bulbs in Hampton Bay ceiling fan light kits?
We have three identical fans. I only bought four of the bulbs Feit Electric brand, Home Depot at first because I wanted to try them out before outfitting all of the fans. LOVED the lights in the first fan they were so much brighter 60 watt equivalent in the 40 watt max fixture . So now I've been trying to replace the ones in the other two fans. I have bought and returned more bulbs than I can remember now because they didn't work. Incandescents work fine, though, in the same socket. Is it the fixture?

Why won't my ceiling fan and ceiling fan light kit work at the same time? Wiring?
Okay, coming from the ceiling are a white, red and black wire. Coming from the fan are a white, black and blue wire and the light kit has a white and black wire. Whites are all wired. When I wire the black ceiling to black fan to black light kit wire and the red ceiling to blue fan wire, the fan works and the light kit does not. When I take the red wire from ceiling and connect to the black wire from fan and the black wire from ceiling and connect to blue wire from fan, the light kit works but the fan doesn't. How do I get both to work? It has something to do with the ceiling wires, but just reversing them doesn't make both work. Thanks for your help

Aloha breeze remote ceiling fan light kit not working.?
I bought an aloha breeze remote ceiling fan with light fixture at Wal mart about one year ago. The light fixture has quit working. The fan control on the remote works, but the light control on the remote or using the pull chain will not work on it.

How do you convert a ceiling fan light kit to a chandelier? Parts? Where to buy?
I have an old style ceiling fan light kit that uses 4 inch fitter glass globes. 2 1 4 inch fitters are the normal size today for chandeliers. I want to use the globes again in a chandelier since they match our decor, but I can't find any lighting reasonably priced with 4 inch fitters. So, I got the wild idea of converting the light kit into a chandelier. It will require a chain, wire and some parts to make a chandelier body, but I don't know where to get started. Anyone do this before?

Can a ceiling fan light kit be installed WITHOUT a fan? i.e. directly to the ceiling?
I have found a great light fixture, but it is meant to be installed as a light kit on a ceiling fan, not as a stand alone ceiling fixture. Can I install it alone, without a fan, directly to the ceiling? How do I know which wires to cap ignore and which to use?Wiring is old but okay, circa 1929, plain fixture no fan was in place previously. The wires I'm wondering about capping ignoring are those on the new light it seems there are extra for connecting to the nonexistent fan.

Are ceiling fan light kits universal among different brands of ceiling fans?
The reason I'm asking is because I live in an apartment complex and no one knows the brand of ceiling fan.

Where can I find a single wire light switch for a ceiling fan light kit?

What is the wiring for a ceiling fan light kit?

Ceiling fan light kit - fan has light kit that unplugs from wiring. What brands that offer this feature?
Ceiling fan in recently purchased house has broken light fixture. I can not find the brand name on the fan. The wiring on the old light kit just plugs in. Anyone know what brands of light kits might offer this feature? It would be much easier to do the replacement. Thanks.

Need with ceiling fan lighting kit installation?
Hi all. I recently purchased a home w pre installed ceiling fans but no lights. I am trying to add lights. I purchased a lighting kit, got instructions from the Lowe's employee...read the instructions when I got home and connected the b w wires from inside the fan that said " for lighting kit" to the b w wires from the light kit.Plugged in a bulb and hit the switch..... No light. Fan works just fine. So, I took the lighting kit to the other room...made the connections...flipped the switch and still got nothing. I tried this with 2 different brands of lighting kits as well. I called Lowe's and checked all diagrams and it appears I've done it correctly but still have no light Suggestions, recommedations, help?
