In warm weather should my direction switch on my ceiling fan be set to blow air down or take air up?

I have a cieling AC vent. Which way should my ceiling fan spin?
I have an air conditioning vent in my ceiling about a foot and a half from where my ceiling fan blades reach. If I'm looking up at my fan which direction should it be spinning to make the room as cool as possible?

What is wrong with my wiring on 3 way switch and ceiling fan?
1, Ceiling fan fan stopped working but not light, fan would run independent of light on fan and could be turned on by a switch2. bought new fan and went to wire it3. IN junction box is three cables with three black wires and three white wires, two of the black wires are wrapped together, one black wire is alone, and all three white wires are wrapped together, hooked power wire Black for fan up to two wrapped Black hot wires, connected white to three white cables neutral right and the power cable to the light to the lone black cable...4. Now Fan works but light doesn't5 checked switches, 3 way switches6 Switch one is hooked up to to a cable with white black and red coming out, the black is the common on the switch the white is wrapped up with another white wire wire that connects to an outlet from another cable, but the outlet works, the red feeds the switch and a black wire is the other hot out of the switch which leads to another cable with it's white neutral tied into the other two white wires in that junction box... my cheap little power probe tells me there is power there to that switch7. The other 3 way switch has a white for a common and a black and red for the hot or traveler posts... but it doesn't read any voltage in it and the light does not work...8 I know switch one that works must be in the middle of the circuit... and switch 2 that doesn't must be the terminal switch, but I I replaced the switches and did NOT Change the way it was wired...ANY IDEAS..HELP

Install a ceiling fan?
I want to install a ceiling fan in my living room. I have a light fixture in place and would like to replace that with the ceiling fan. I would like to know if it is possible to replace or would there be some issue with respect to power? The fan is 42" diameter with a light in it.

How do i wire a ceiling fan light combo?
I have a hunter type t fan and I am trying to rewire it, but I cannot get it right. there are 3 wires coming from my ceiling, blue, black, and red and then on my fan 2 black wires and one white. I have tried several combos with no luckthere are two switches on my wall, one for fan one for lightalso two green wires from my fan onto another wire from the ceiling which i assume is the grounded wire. I know that one is rightok so there are two switches on my wall, the left one previously controlled the light and has two black wires connecting to it, the one on the right controlled the fan which has a black and red wire. The same fan and light were previously up, but I had to take it down because the fan itself had come loose and the wires disconnected on their own so I did not get to see the setup. The wires coming from my ceiling are faded, but from what i can tell it looks like a black red and white, with the grounded wire, which is just copper, in total there are 4 from the ceiling. On my fan itself there are 2 green which connect to the grounded plain copper wire for sure, then a black wire, white wire, and a black white striped wire, so 5 in all. I know for a FACT that the two green from the fan connect to the grounded copper wire in the ceiling.

Why my ceiling fan takes 15-30 min to start after power ON?
I have changed capacitor of my ceiling fan. It worked normal for 3 days. After wards, whenever I turn it ON, it takes 15 30min to start and once started, it works normal. Is it the problem of capacitor or something else? This happens only when starting the fan after long time when its winding is cool .

How to I rewire a hampton Bay ceiling fan light kit(pull chain switch)?
I have a Hampton bay ceiling fan with a light kit and it works great except the ceiling fan does not work. The lights work on the ceiling fan. The pull chain switch has L, 1, 2, and 3. Can someone please tell me which wires go to which number? The type of switch I have is a zing ear pullchain switch ZE 208S. Thank you it is controlled by the wall switch not a remote control...i tried the website but it only taked me to home depot...there is no red wire at the wall switch, only black and white and the ground, everything is wired correctly except for the pull chain switch that came apart...

Ceiling Fan regular malfunction.?
I am facing a weird problem of ceiling fan getting spoilt bearing getting worn out. I have tried getting new bearings installed or even getting a new ceiling fan but every time the fan ends up making noise due to ball bearing getting spoilt. Can anyone let me know the reasons for the same ? Can it be a fan speed regulator issue ? Is the fan regulator that is making the fan run at a wrong faster speed and hence fan bearings get damaged ?MonicaThanks for the initial response but I have already tried replacing the fan. Initial Fan was Orient & then moved to USHA. Got the bearing changed first for the Orient but then the problem reoccurred & hence chained to a new USHA. Now USHA too ended up with the same problem. I wonder what could be the reason

Help! Electrical Question (Pics) Ceiling fan and lights quit working?
Hello,Yesterday I went to turn on my above ceiling fan and lights but heard an electrical arc and then nothing. Both the fan and lights do not work, the circuit breaker is fine. I turned off the breaker for the room and removed the light kit to inspect the wiring. The links below are some pics I took.db.tt jHiryRdndb.tt KhQPfAk1db.tt uslonaw2Advice?Ok. I'm checking the wiring in the ceiling. There are red, black, blue and white wires. Is red the hotwire and black the ground? The junction box above the fan seems to be working well. Just tested it, black is getting power through the light switch. I'm assuming the fan and lights are faulty
