Is there a way to stretch out leather riding boots?
some one gave me a decent pair of english boots the tall ones that tie near the foot but zip all the way up the calf. The only issue is the calf is like 1 4 of an inch to small I can only zip them up half way. Is there a way I can stretch them with out ruining them. My calves are muscle so there for there isn't really a way to loose weight in them

I'm looking for a good pair of english boots and breechers. will choose best answer?
I'm looks to get a comfortable pair of english boots. I'm not really looking to do shows in them but I may do a few lo key open shows in the future. They will be used for my english lessons this is the first time doing english lessons even though I know how to ride I can alway benifit from it . I don't want to spend to much around 100 200 for my first pair. Any god brands you like? Also what breechers or jodpurs I think I spelt that wrong do you like, that's some what flattering would be good lol as I feel uncomfortable in stretchy pants. Color doesn't matter. I have looked at these things up on sites too but i like personal opinion as well. Thanks I will choose best answer

Should my new riding boots, while breaking them in, hurt the back of my ankle?
Hi, I just got new riding boots on Saturday and they're my first pair. They're Mountain Horse Venice boots, and they cost me just $250, so I understand that they wouldn't be as soft or as easy to break in as Sergio Grasso's or a more expensive boot. I've been wearing them for a few hours each day since Saturday, and rolling my ankle and foot to get them a little looser, but they continue to cut into the back of my foot as I walk. Does this occur with all riding boots?I tried searching the web for any question like mine, and from what I can understand they should be pretty uncomfortable all around, but the ankle on the back of my boot is killing me. It's like whenever I take a step, the leather folds inwards and cuts the back of my ankle. Today I put a little cloth where it was rubbing, and it's helped a lot, but I don't want these boots to be a huge waste. Also, do you have any unique ideas for breaking boots in? I've tried practically everything except dunking them in water which I don't plan on doing anyway Thanks, and please reply soon They are zip up field boots and I've been testing out both Zocks and thicker riding socks with them while walking around. When I first bought them, though, they didn't bother the back of my ankle. I haven't ridden in them yet and I ride only once a week so I have to wait till next Sunday to ride in them.My dad put a whole bunch of mink oil on the boot Sunday and it loosened them up a bit, however I'm afraid that if I do it again so soon that it will weaken the leather. If it's what you guys recommend, though, I'll try it

Mountain Horse Tall Boot Opinions?
I am in the process of looking for a new pair of tall field boots for schooling shows and local circuits both at my local horse park and grange shows so nothing super fancy . I show both hunters and jumpers and school in Cross Country Events when I can. A friend of mine has mountain horse tall boots which got me looking into them as they seem reasonably priced. My question is would you recommend the Venice Field boot or the Richmond Field boot? And for either whats your general opinion on them comfort and style wise. Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance
