Would it be cheaper to buy bridles in bits instead of a full bridle?
You can buy replacement parts from bridle companies like cheek pieces or nosebands so would it be cheaper to buy everything separately and put it all together or buy a whole bridle?Cheers

Figure 8 bridles without padding?
Okay, so I ordered a cheap figure 8 noseband last night from horseloverz. I just got the cheapest I could find just in case it didnt work well with my horse he doesnt like pressure on certain parts of his face, but we should be fine and then if it worked well, I would get a higher quality figure 8. I just noticed looking back on my order that it doesn't have that cotton lining where the two straps intersect, however. Should this be a problem? Problem as in, with just leather there, has anyone's horses ever gotten rubs, or irritated skin? My boy doesn't get rubs often, but just making sure that there isn't a specific reason that there's lining there that I'm missing out on If it matters, here is the link to what I've purchased horseloverz.com Gatsby Adj Figure 8 Noseband Havanna Horse pr 124807.htmland heres one with the lining, thats a bit higher quality horseloverz.com DaVinci Fancy Raised Adjustable Fig 8 Noseband pr 294953.html

Does a bitless bridle male it harder to ride a horse?
I ride a horse at the stables I go to who has a bitless bridle, and I find it quite hard to control him. What do you think of bitless bridles? Any tips would be good plz Thx when I said male I meant makeThx guys keep the answers coming Remember that I go to a riding school, so I can't exactly change his tack or anything. He's an ex racehorse, but can be quite stubborn sometimes either way I love him to bits I can only walk and trot on him yet by the wayAnd I don't pull hard on the reins, I know it can still hurt him. And he doesn't go 'out of control' , It just takes a while for him to respond to what I ask, eg halt, turn... Don't worry, I make sure that I don't hurt him, and my instructor usually puts me on him anyway, plus, he's my favourite horse there
Is a ferruled bridle correct for western pleasure classes or is it only to be used with arabians?
My daughter likes the look of ferruled bridles but shows Quarter Horses in Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Trail, and Horsemanship Classes. Before I spend a ton of money on a bridle I'd like to know if its correct or acceptable for the class. We don't have a trainer. We do local shows and 4H. We may take a few lessons from a local trainer before the Candy Apple Classic this year.... I want your opinion...
