I just bought a pair of smooth, black leather show chaps and they are slightly baggier than I like. What is a good, legit way to shrink them without ruining them?
Can i wear half chaps for my BHS exam?

My half chaps are really tight.?
I haven't ridden in like 3 months, and my half chaps were brand new and tight then, but now I can't even get them to go together enough to zip them, what should I do? I'm in tears because I REALLY want to ride today.I managed to get them on, I think I bruised my finger trying, but I still have circulation in my feet They are Ovation, I think faux leather, but all the reviews said they are small, but of course my mom didnt read that so she got me a size smaller than I should have gotten because they stretch...well these dont.
Where can I get custom half chaps?
Im aware they cost a lot. Do you have experience with custom half chaps? How much were they? Do you think my local leather repair shoe maker would do it? soo i ride english hunter and all the girls at my old barn would ride in like booty shorts not jeans and half chaps. not looking at it from a " proper" point of view....would this be okay? would u do it for a lesson? and this wouldnt be until summer....thanks
How often should I clean my paddock boots and leather half chaps? ?
I bought Ariat paddock boots and leather half chaps and I am wondering how often I should clean them? I am just schooling and it isn't that gross out at the farm really you only get powder like mud on your boots and it is for the most part dry. I have a liquid saddle soap but it is $12 a bottle and it is very good quality but I don't want to go out and buy a $12 bottle every month so how often should I clean them?
How to care for leather half chaps?
I bought some leather half chaps from the tack store yesterday and they aren't grand prix or ariat just no brand was given.How do I care for this? I am meaning with oiling or cleaning how do I clean them after a bit without damaging the leather, I know don't put them in the washing machine but how do you clean your and what products do you use to care for them as well?

I need some new chaps for this coming show season. Any suggestions on where to get them? I need breed show quality ones. I just got paddock boots this weekend. I bought my own boots but my mom is getting me half chaps for my birthday. is it ok to wear just my paddock boots for now?haha srry i just started english and i wasnt sure if it could hurt you leg or something P lol
Leather Chaps Stretching?
How can I help get my leather half chaps to stretch, they are very tight on my calfs and I have large calfs and medium thighs and an average size torso. The chaps I wear are X Large and and are tight like I mentioned and uncomfortable..how can I stretch them out? So they aren't so painful to mount with as I cannot really even bend in them at the knees..Thanks..10 points to best answer.

ok so i have big calves for a 12 y o girl but im 5.7 so anyways i dont want to have my parents drive a long way just to try on half chaps i cant aford because the tack shop near me only has show boots so around 16 in an can squeez to a15 w breeches and flexed the hight to the ankle is 13 so would i fit into a M or L if i need to do the measurement for the lenth again because i did it to short or to long i will thx i like the cheap good stuff you know stuff a 12 y o can pay for i would like to pay for stuff like $20 and under i will only go over the price range for like show boots but i dont show i just dont wana get pinched by the sturup leater things and i dont like wearing long socksthx guys i found a web that if i spend enough money i can get a FREE halter and lead YAY
Half Chap Help Needed for Novice English Rider!?
I need some help with trying to find the right half chaps, and the right fit I'm confused about finding the measurement for the length of my calf. I know my calf width is 13.5, but my mom measured my calf and got 16.5, but then my friends measured and got 17.5 Is there a correct way to measure my calf without error? Also, what are some good half chaps that are under $50? Which materials are the best? Thanks
