I am a teenager. I'm looking to get my first horse soon. What I'm looking to do with the horse is trail ride, ride around the property, and maybe eventually enter it in small 4 H shows. I've had really intense back surgery so I need a typically nicely tempered breed. Don't tell me it depends on the horse, because I know that, but I also know that specific breeds are known to be more calm than others.So these are my questions 1. What are the things I need to get for a horse? Don't worry, me being a dummy on the subject of horses, I'm not getting one for a few years, but I promised my parents I would do the research. Now, I know that I should get the following metal rubber curry comb, mane tail brush, comb, brush, sweat scraper squeegee, and a hoof pick brush. That's about all I know, besides the saddle. HELP? And how much would all of this be approximately if I got them on like horse.com or horseloverz.com? Are there any other helpful websites that I should look for?2. What things can I buy before I get the horse, just to show my parents I'm interested?3. There is a horse website that asks the seller to rate the temperament out of ten. Is one good tempered or is it bad tempered? So, in other words, should I look for a low number or a high number?I know it's a bit to ask for, but I really appreciate it. I will pick a best answer to someone who answers all of my questions and doesn't give me all the negative stuff about how I shouldn't own a horse. I've been saving up for a while. Thanks guys

Rust and tarnish on horse tack?
Okay, I know everyone that has owned a horse or mule has at least one piece of old tack that the metal pieces the ones for looks are tarnished and or rusted the silver they once were is now a dark brown that matches the leather . What can you use do to remove rust and or tarnish from the metal pieces on bridles and saddles and such? Lately we've been picking up a lot of old tack I enjoy seeing what the leather looks like under the grime a couple pieces I have gotten I'd love to see on one of my horses for a show or trail riding and would love to see the metal sparkle like I'm sure it did when it was new. Any help would be appreciated

Mixing up horse tack?
When I handle a horse, I tend to rein it English style. Does it matter if I use Western Tack on it? I dont plan to event, or anything, and my horse will only be used as a pleasure horse, for riding and such.Will it confuse the horse at all? I'm asking, because I'm able to get good Western Tack for free. Obviously, free tack vs. 1k tack is an obvious choice..
Buying horse tack? What do I need?
Hi so I'm gettin a horse. I need to know what kind of grooming tack I need. I also need to know what type of horse tack I need. I think we have a file and clippers. I won't need mats for the horse either. I think we have a halter and bridle that might fit him. I ride western. I have never tried english. Thanks. Also I have a saddle blanket from my aunt coming. Opinion on cowhide/hair-on inlay horse tack?
I found a bridle and breast collar set that I am in love with. It has white cow hair inlay in star shaped cut outs. Does anyone have experience with tack that has hair on inlays? Is it difficult to care for? Does it lose hair? I am a barrel racer and would only use it at competition.Thanks
How can i customize my horses tack?
