Changing out bathroom light fixtures. Outlet box question?
I'm swapping out the light fixture above the mirror in my bathroom. Upon removing the old one, I found a pancake box instead of the usual deep box with the metal arms. I can't tell what is behind the pancake box. Are these always screwed into studs? Though it appears it might be nailed. I need to know what to do because my new fixture is fairly heavy. Thanks So for my heavy fixture, is this box sufficient since it's nailed into a stud?
How do I get rid of the outline of an old bathroom light fixture?
I replaced the light over the mirror vanity in my bathroom with another wall bracket fixture. I painted at the same time, and didn't really notice that I can still see the outline from the old fixture. It's been a couple years now, and I have the time to fix it. It looks like a rectangle of excess paint. What's the best way to get rid of this? Sanding? If so, what grit?

Where can you buy a bathroom light fixture in Vancouver that has a plug for your hairdryer on the fixture?
Hi, I am replacing a bathroom light fixture with a three-way switch. Have 2 red, 2 black, 2 white...?
and a ground wire. So we have one light fixture that is controlled by one light switch and controlled by another one in the same room. The wires all appear under the same fixture. So behind the fixture is 2 black, 2 red, 2 white, and 2 ground. We were told by many people that the white wires should be together, so we put them together. Then we are left with 2 black 1 from each switch and 2 red 1 from each switch . We had it setup where we had a black and a red wire from the same switch together. Then we had the other black and red wires doing nothing. Behind the light fixture is a black and white wire. We connected the white to the 2 white wires and the black wire to the black red wires we tied together. It allowed the light to work and but I tried to switch the light off and it would flicker. Meaning, it would turn off the light for a split second when we turned the light switch off. And it did the same thing turning the light switch on. If you hold the switch in the middle, it would turn off. Weird. Please help.By the way, we understand the risk of doing this ourselves. Just to get that out of the way.

Why would a light bulb explode? One of the 5 bulbs in my bathroom light fixture exploded when we flipped it on
The light fixture in our master bathroom holds 6 bulbs. Currently, there are 5 GE brand " Reveal" 40 watt, medium base, blunt shape, decorative bulbs. For some reason, when we turned on the lightswitch tonight, the bulb in the center exploded, scattering glass bulb pieces everywhere.

Bathroom light fixture help?
We want to remodel our bathroom from 80's style ugly medicine cabinet with built in light to something nicer looking. The problem I'm noticing is the medicine cabinet's light is the only light for the bathroom. I do like the portfolio light fixtures compared to the ugly multiple globe bulb light fixtures, but am afraid the portfolio light fixture won't cast light throughout the whole bathroom. Is my thinking correct?
