Where can I find ceiling light fixtures that screw directly into a socket without rewiring?
I saw these once on a home improvement show and am trying to find a web site that sells them. They actually are small fixtures chandeliers for lack of a better descriptor that screw directly into the ceiling fixture I have a spotlight type light and just hang from it with no rewiring. Any ideas where I might find such a thing? I'm currently in an apartment and am reluctant to do any rewiring.

How can I remove this ceiling light fixture to paint.?
I am not concerned about the wiring, just how to get it to drop a little so I can do a better job at painting. I have removed the globe, and the bulb. I removed the 2 little screws, put them back again but it still went nowhere, tried to unscrew the thing in the middle, still no luck and now I can't get the middle thing back tight again. Used some rubbery gloves to try and get a grip but still will not budge. I have a putty knife, couldn't get it to get between the ceiling and fixture. This is as new fixture, just put up about 6 mos ago, so no previous paint, there was just a cap before.The screws are out and I still can't get it to move, that is my issue.
How do you get a stuck light shade off of a ceiling light fixture?
The fixture is on told ceiling, and no matter what you do it doesn't come off. Spin it right the entire thing moves. Spin it left, nothing happens. Spin it while pressing in case of a notch doesn't work either. There are no screws, and the sticker even says to just twist. Anyone have a solution?

Wire connection for ceiling light fixture?
I am installing a ceiling light fixture. I see black, white and green ground wire. I will be connecting the white with white, black with black and green with green with wire nuts. The first question is, are there specific sizes of wire nuts that I have to buy? Second question is.. once I connect the green to bare copper wire with wire nut, is this all I need to ground the connection? I also see green screw on the mounting bracket. Do I need to do anything with this eventhough I already connected the green wire from the fixture to the green wire from ceiling?
Trying to remove an old ceiling light fixtures with no screws..?
Hi, I have a very old ceiling light fixture that is built into the ceiling. I have read on the internet that usually ceiling light fixtures are mounted with 2 screws however, no matter how hard I look, I cannot find the screws. I have heard that sometimes people paint over the screws but this is not the case here. In fact, after removing the light bulb, I am able to get to a certain degree to the back of the fixture with 2 or 3 of my fingers. I tried feeling the back of it for any mounts but to no avail. I've tried gently pulling it and even using a flat head screw driver to wedge it out but the fixture wouldn't budge much. When I try pulling really hard on the fixture, I seem to see part of cable or wire that it is hanging on to but I am not sure. It doesn't seem like I could pull much harder without ripping the whole thing off the ceiling and breaking the ceiling along with it. Does any one here have any experience with these types of light fixtures? I have living in a relatively old home... I'm thinking that this type of fixture is at least 30 years old. Thanks in advance

Trying to install a ceiling light fixture that works with two switches but has extra white wire in ceiling?
Light goes on but switch at top of stairs doesn't shut it on or off. Only switch in the room works. Connections are in ceiling black and red capped, two black from ceiling attached to black from light fixture & capped, two white from ceiling attached to white from light fixture & capped and one white left in ceiling capped. Should this white one be capped with the other white wires? Would it be the wire for the light switch at the top of the stairs. Please advise. Thank you

there is a ceiling light in my closet and I need to mount a reciptical next to it for a power supplyThanks for the responses about the screw in fixture with a plug in but I need constant power supply without the light on. The light switch is on a wall outside of the closet and controls other ceiling lights as well. I had one large room with four lights spaced equally, now I have a large room with three lights and one closet with one light. I am trying to get a plug in for power on the closet side of the large room.The only power supply I have is in the ceiling so I need a plug in on that side of the room.
