Reliable outdoor light fixture information
Would decorating an electric outdoor light fixture with paper be a fire hazard?
Even using low watt bulbs in my porch light make it far too bright for my needs. Not to mention it shines directly into my neighbor's bedroom window. I would like to line the interior glass panes with decorative cardstock to diffuse the light. I would not be using any type of adhesive. No paper would be touching the bare bulb but it still concerns me. Thanks

Can you hang an outdoor light fixture inside?
I would like to know if an outdoor hanging lantern fixture not a candle but one you would hard wire can be installed inside. I would like to hang a hanging lantern in my sons room for his main light fixture but don't want to pay the indoor prices for a lantern pendant or chandelier when I can get creative and buy one for under $50 bucks that is made for outdoor use. HOWEVER, I want it to be safe, so I was wondering if anyone knows he difference between the electrical of outdoor and indoor lighting? Is there a difference? Is the wiring different. Most look to be the same to me, and use the same watt bulbs and by using it inside it isn't going to get wet or be in hot weather so I was thinking it would probably be safe, unless there is something I don't know since I'm not an electrician. Has anyone else ever done this before? Thanks for your feedback
IS IT OK to put 2 different wattage bulbs in a two socket outdoor light fixture?
this is an outdoor light fixture on a pole that takes two small candle shaped chandelier bulbs. One bulb will shine brighter. One bulb is 15 watts the other 25 watts. 2 25 watts will be too bright versus a 15watt next to a 25 watt, but I don't know if this not a good idea to have two bulbs of different wattage in the same light circuit.
How do I change an outdoor light fixture?
Please tell what I need to know about changing an outdoor light fixture like one by your front door that is attached to your house . This fixture is old and needs to be replaced badly. Do I need to know about electrical in order to change it? Should I hire a professional?Additional info Our house is about 50 years old and I'm guessing it is probably original to the house. Coming out of the fixture and extending all the way down the side of the house up against the door frame is metal matching the old fixture that I am assuming is covering the wires. Does this need to be changed too?I want information from people who have actually done this and know what they are doing. I have already picked out what I want, but I have no idea what I am doing. Please give me all of the information you can. Thank you very much

Outdoor light fixture keeps blowing bulbs?
I have two outdoor light fixtures outside of my front door. For some reason both fixtures keep blowing the bulbs after about a day or so. I will admit that the fixtures say that the maximum wattage is 45 I believe and I just put 60's in them. Will incorrect wattage light bulbs cause the bulbs to blow. For some reason I'm thinking I have always had higher wattage bulbs in these fixtures and no problems, but maybe I'm mistaken. Maybe the cold temperature? I'm using 60w bug lights ya know the yellow ones. Fixture rates for 40 watts max I believe label is faded out
Does anyone know where I can buy an outdoor lighting fixture?
I want to replace my outdoor wall mounted light by my front door. The one I have now also has an outlet on it. I find this very handy to plug in my weed whacker, etc. I can't seem to find an outdoor light that comes with the outlet. Have they been discontinued? Thanks HVAC, I did check in those stores. I guess they don't make them anymore.
