What are some good treadmill workouts for cross country runners?
This is my first time using a treadmill in my house. I am training as a high school junior for cross country tryouts that are a month and a half from now. For tryouts I have to be able to run three miles within 25 minutes. I've done that before, but I haven't ran since last November when the last cross country season ended. I know it would have been better to begin training earlier, but I haven't had the extra time. I've ran 3 miles a couple of times outdoors around April or May this year though. Anyway, it's summer now and I am wondering what's a good workout besides outdoor workouts that I can do on the treadmill. How much should I set the incline? How much speed miles per hour and for how long? Also, my treadmill has built in cross arms to run with so should I use them? Or should I just hold on to the hand rail? And how often should I do the workout each week? I know it's a tight schedule to get back into shape but I hoping to do whatever I can to be in my best shape for tryouts. I greatly appreciate it if you can help P.S I am just an average runner, and 25 minutes is my best three mile time in the past season, if that helps.

Hi, I run six miles on my local park three times a week, this includes some uphill, downhill and level running and it takes me one hour. Is my interval treadmill workout good?
I want to burn fat so I heard that interval training on the treadmill does the trick. Here is what I have come up with.4 00 warm up at 4 mph good paced walk 2 00 jog at 6 mph1 00 sprint at 10 mph alternation between 2 min jog and 1 min sprint over and over again until I reach 27 00 minutes At 27 00, cool down for 3 minutes at 4 mphIs this a good interval workout on the treadmill? Should I switch the intervals to a 2 min sprint and 1 min walk or jog? I'll do whatever it takes to lose fat, even if it hurts. Please give me some advice. Thank you so much

Ideas for treadmill workout?
I'm 16, 5'7 around 170lbs. I'm a shot putter, and in a few weeks we'll be starting a weight lifting regiment focusing on gaining muscle I'm already pretty muscular , but we never do any workouts including running, so that and living with 2 pack a day smokers have made me a little heavier and out of shape than I would like to be. Since winter is coming and daylight is shortening, I bought a treadmill to start helping get into shape, but I'm uncertain of how to start. I currently run a mile in 11 12min, but over time I would like to cut it to at least 9 10min, and I would like to get my weight down to around 150lbs over time. Any running walking routine ideas would be appreciated, such as how hard for how long, and how many days per week. Also, any workout tips for keeping results after I achieve them are helpful. Thanks How exactly do inclines work? This one is moved manually, and has 4 holes for no incline, low incline, moderate incline, and high incline. Should I keep it at the lowest?

My boyfriend runs for 30 minutes at 13 kmph on a 5 % incline and urges me to keep up with him. Today I did it and I am afraid if he is going for more and more challenging workouts. What is a good treadmill workout for endurance?
Im getting a treadmill and want to stay fit for soccer during the off season. Im not looking to lose weight but to increase my speed and the amount of time I can run. Im also doing indoor soccer so I don't know if my workout at home should be decreased because of that. Im looking for a very tough workout that will really challenge me.
